I was unsure whether to purchase this book after much debate and research. I had read the previous review and found myself unattracted to this particular book. In the end I ended up buying this and by far this is the best book on Utamaro and his works out of the three that I have purchased so far. Originally I had just wanted color images of his works for art purposes but I found myself reading the book and really getting into Utamaro himself. If you want a book with all color images plus a descriptive backdrop story then this book is for you. I highly recommend this to any Utamaro fan.
